Rev. Jim Fuller

Hi, I’m Jim Fuller, minister of Unity Church in Albany. I am a graduate of the Unity School of Christianity and an ordained Unity Minister. I have been serving this church since January 2003. I was raised in the Christian Science Church which developed around the same time as Unity. Like Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, I would have to classify my spiritual beliefs as “decidedly eclectic.” During my adult life I participated in the Episcopal and Unitarian Universalist Churches, and even in one “New Age” type church. Each of these was helpful but eventually left me feeling that there must be something more. My spiritual quest eventually led me to Unity. Like many other people, I found that Unity was the perfect fit for me. And of course, my spiritual journey continues. I often tell people that my current theology is “there’s a lot more going on here than we have any idea about.” I am excited to explore that “more” and to support others in their exploration.

I am supported in my exploration by my wife Kay. We have been sharing our spiritual journey together since shortly after we met in 1985. Prior to moving to Albany we lived in Charlotte, North Carolina where among other things we led an A Course In Miracles study group for many years. Interestingly In our early years together it was always Kay who led the spoken prayers, as I was hesitant to pray out loud. After I received a call to ministry we both spent many weeks at Unity Village completing the Spiritual Development Program. From the summer of 2000 until late 2002 we lived in the Kansas City area while I completed the Unity Ministry Education Program. I was led to Unity Church in Albany by a classmate who had been a member of this congregation.

Kay and I have four adult children from previous marriages. Our three sons live in Charlotte, North Carolina. My step-daughter lives in the Virginia Beach area. Prior to entering ministry I operated community group homes for adults with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities. I hold degrees in Art and Psychology. Most of my previous career involved working for not-for-profit agencies and serving on NFP boards. This turned out to be great preparation for church work. Kay and I currently live in Delmar New York.

I am available for spiritual counseling, weddings, memorial services and other pastoral needs. Please call the church to schedule an appointment.

Jean Robinson, LUT

I love Unity and I love living the Unity Principles every day. Having been raised in a Congregational Church I had a less restrictive upbringing than those of some others, but even this church projected a certain amount of judgment and fear. Learning that I had control over my thoughts and how to use my mind in a positive way has been the greatest blessing I have ever known. This belief system changed the course of my life and I am so grateful.

In 1969 I visited the Unity Church of Huntington Long Island with my aunt Jean and began the path that eventually led to my becoming a Licensed Unity Teacher in 1996 and a Prayer Chaplain in 2001.

Currently I am part of the Prayer Team. I have taught several classes to train Prayer Chaplains so that we now have about ten qualified chaplains to pray with people after services. Every other Wednesday at noon I host a study group for lunch and discussion of a current book. I invite you to call for directions and to join us.
